This regional airline is an independent carrier which operates as a franchisee of Iberia Airlines and Binter Canarias. It operates 91 domestic and international routes to 51 destinations, and charter flights. The airline has a registered office located in Quart de Poblet, Spain. It was established in May 1994 and started operations in December. It was created to become a reference point for the southern European regional aviation market sector as indicated by its original name: Air Nostrum Lineas Aereas del Mediterraneo (Air Nostrum Mediterranean Airlines). Its is one of the three largest regional aviation companies in Europe and amongst the 15 largest regional aviation companies in the world. Since it started, it has operated more than two million flights and carried over 76 million passengers. The company's fleet includes CRJ1000, CRJ900, CRJ200 and ATR 72-600. The company is a member of International Air Transport Association (IATA), European Regions Airline Association (ERA), Asociación de Líneas Aéreas (ALA), Asociación de Compañías Españolas de Transporte Aéreo (ACETA), Exceltur, and Airline Operators Committee (AOC).
